About Us
People often ask us what we do. We respond: “We take care of your “to-do” list…inside and out”.
We are homeowners like you. Before we started our business we both had full time jobs and little free time to work on things in our own house. Vacations and weekends were spent cleaning, renovating, fixing and trying to keep up with the “list”.
We found that when we hired people that actually showed up, they usually wanted only big jobs and wouldn’t help us with smaller things that needed to be done. We made the mistake once or twice of paying for the whole job in good faith, when 90% was done, only to have these people completely disappear off the face of the earth. So we decided to take matters into our own hands.
Lakeshore Home Maintenance fills the void that these other companies leave. We are a family run contracting business in the Oakville area. We are competent, we show up and we show up on time, we work hard for reasonable pricing, and we are friendly.
- Insulate the walls in the cold bathroom
- Change the ugly tap in the kitchen and install a new backsplash
- Remove paneling in basement rec room and drywall and paint
- Install pot lights in above room
- Repair broken drywall
- Replace broken window crank
- And so on…
Imagine the list above. You will need to call multiple skilled trades to compete this work. You have to coordinate everything, pay all the different companies, and wait around for all the workers each time they show up… if they show up.
We can take care of your entire list with one call.
Our goal is to help people like us, who love their home, but need help maintaining and taking care of it.

Keith Childerhose and Sarah Taylor live in Oakville with our five children, our fluffy cat Sugar, and our pet lizard (a Nigerian Uromastyx) named Frunobulax. We enjoy hiking and camping in Algonquin, and working on our own renovations in our spare time. Oh yes, and I tweet…so feel free to introduce yourself to @LHMaintenance on Twitter.
